The studio focuses primarily on family, lifestyle & portraiture photography.
As an architect and interior designer, I've always been passionate about photography. I love capturing moments and emotions creatively.

I started doing photography as a hobby when I become a mom- suddenly I was asked by friends and relatives to photograph their children and it was then when I decided to open up my own studio. The studio was originally founded in 2012 in Mexico under its previous name Casa Fotografica. In early 2020, the studio re-opened as Chabrand Photography and now operates in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver area primarily.

The studio offers customizable packages & services to fit every need and budget. As a lifestyle photographer, I focus on capturing unposed scenes without interfering with your special moments with a photojournalistic approach. I love capturing natural, emotion-filled moments and combining them with elegant and artful composition.

CHAPTER 1

King of Cadhia:

She Will Be A Myth And Nothing More

Yellow, blue, purple, green- Pigments of every color, one after the other twisted in the iris of the newborn eyes.

The father, extended his trembling arms to hold his daughter for the very first time. He was nervous yes, yet not as the Naithe, the healer, who seemed reluctant to have to touch the baby’s very skin any longer. The father, however, the King of Cadhia, was a gasp as he felt her little hands, her little fingers looking for his. He held her so delicacy as if the baby was to break at any second. He was not even surprised he could ever love someone that had nearly killed his wife.

But how could he not? This was his third daughter, his youngest and if he was completely honest, the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on. Not a drop of fear did he felt when she opened her little eyes that seem to have petrified all others that had seen them. No, it was love he felt. Mesmerizing love and admiration.

Apart from the strange eyes, she looked quite normal- but all those in the room knew perfectly well that she was not. In fact, they have known it long before her eyes assured them. No, the pregnancy of the Queen was too strange to think otherwise. Even the strange constellations had warned them all too many times. Yet, it was until this very moment, that the King became truly aware of what he had to do next.

"She will be nothing more than a myth to the Kingdom. A myth and only that." Said Raverto, as he held the small bundle close to his chest, and a warm feeling spread over his heart. A feeling Raverto thought, was there to stay.

"But, the Kingdom..." the Queen said, barely able to pull her head up straight. "They must know,"  She paused as if she was carefully choosing her following words "They will all admire her…" She bit her lips, touched her belly just above the bloody remains of her dress, where the baby nestled not so long ago and continued "They will not believe their luck."

Without looking over, the King said simply "Please Belina, let the Naithe attend to you, you are weak.”

“Love, they will not -” She began.

“No.” He spoke firmly, decisively. “I will not let them fear her... not yet if I can help it."

The Queen gave a quick but reproachful glare at the Naithe, who’s gaze hurriedly drifted away.

"We can not let them fear her before she is ready to prove them wrong." The King said as if in a trance. He had a strange look on his face. As if the baby was the only light in a sea of darkness. As if it was the only light that he had seen in years.

"What if sh-” She paused and took a deep breath.“ Are you certain she will prove them wrong?"

"If there is already doubt in you, my dear wife- her own mother, how can I let her secret roam free?" There was a pause before he continued. "But yes I am. I am certain she will choose the light."

"So then my love- ” The Queen paused and gritted her teeth in pain as the Naithe worked on her wounds. “She will be nothing more than a myth..."

The King was relieved to hear his wife speak this time, with the same courage and determination she used to keep the baby alive in her womb when all the all odds were against it.

"My dearest wife, do you know that saying that Cadhian people so often believe?" the King asked, not redirecting his sight from the small girl as if he might lose her any second.

"Which one they do not?" She said as she held shrieks of pain that tried to escape her.

"How did it go? Ah yes, ‘Creature, who can reflect the Sun's light in its eyes, can also hide it in darkness eternally- with nothing more than a blink...”

“Ah, that one.” She said sounding bitter but Raverto did not seem to take notice.

“When she is ready, our people will understand. They will fear her- yes. But, my dearest wife, they will also be hopeful for what wonders she can do.  For the light she can bring to this darkened world." He said matter-of-factly.

“What is to be her name?” the Naithe asked, and when the question was met by silence he added: “To thank the Sun and the Moon for this blessing, my Lord. No word will be ever spoken about her- I swear by the Moon.”

The King finally looked over at his wife, and when their eyes met he knew they were both in agreement. At the same time, as if coordinated and without taking their eyes off each other, they both said: “Evannah- her name is Evannah.”

All those who were in that room, knew only too well that no word of the girl’s existence must be ever spoken aloud. Either from loyalty, faith or perhaps fear, they all knew they should never let it slip. Because when the baby girl opened her eyes for the very first time she became a secret. One that when revealed had the potential to change the world for greatness- yet as easily could destroy it.
